Youth Programs
Faith Adventure Sunday School
This creative approach to Christian Education is based on Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences Theory. Research on this theory tells us that all people possess different intelligences - visual, verbal, musical, etc. - that work together to help us learn. We all learn in different ways - the more ways we learn, the more complete the learning can be. Using the PowerXpress Bible-based curriculum, we will explore a different Bible theme every five weeks of the school year.
Joyful Noise (Junior Choir)
Our Junior Choir, Joyful Noise, is open up to girls and boys in grades 2 and up that like to sing.
We will be learning fun pieces that explore music through song, movement and games. The choir will also explore instrumental accompaniments with percussion and other noisemakers.
Joyful Noise will be singing in church through out the year. Join us as we explore how to make music. Our goal is to make learning music fun for our young people so that they may have a song in their hearts as they grow.
Joyful Noise meets Friday afternoons from 4:00-5:00 pm. This program runs through the academic year and weekly attendance is required. Participation in Joyful Noise is a commitment for the entire academic year.
Confirmation Class
In addition to our Faith Adventure Children's Program, we offer Confirmation Class for children in eighth grade. This class is taught by Reverend Sue Foster, with help from the Deacons and other members of our congregation.
Confirmation class is an opportunity for students in 8th grade or above to explore the meaning of church membership, deepen their own faith, and explore their relationship with God, the congregation, and the class.
Vacation Bible School
Youth Group
The Youth Group is a program for youth in grades 7-12 which is co-sponsored by EWCC and the First Congregational Church. The program is supported by Youth Leaders and a Youth Ministry Team composed of adult members from both churches.
Youth Group provides a variety of events to promote community service, fellowship, spiritual growth, and recreation. Our purpose is to foster spiritual development and discipleship with Jesus Christ as our guide. We seek to nurture relationships between youth and faithful adults at our Sunday night meetings, retreats, and mission trips. SYG meets each week from September through June. Friends are welcome at all events.
