Palm Sunday
Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week and we gather together for a special worship service. The RSCM and Adult Choir will be singing.
Maundy Thursday
Celebration of the Seder Supper. Maundy Thursday, 6:00 pm
Everyone is invited to this pot-luck supper! Bring a salad, main dish, or dessert as we enjoy a time of fellowship on this special night. Before our meal, we will sample symbolic foods and remember the story of God leading Moses and the slaves out of Egypt and into freedom. This is a Jewish celebration that we honor because Jesus celebrated this Passover meal with his disciples before his arrest and crucifixion.
Service of Tenebrae. Maundy Thursday, 8:00 pm
The word “tenebrae” means shadow. Come hear the story of Jesus’ final hours as he chooses to let the shadow of death overcome him. This is a quiet, moving service when God’s love and God’s willingness to give his Son for us is made clear. Because this is a solemn service, we encourage older children to attend with their parents and younger children to take advantage of childcare in the nursery.
Good Friday VigilBeginning immediately following the Maundy Thursday service and continuing until 9:00 pm on Friday. You are invited to enjoy the peace and silence of our sanctuary during our prayer vigil.
You may sign up for a time that is “yours”; you may come to sit, pray, listen to music, and reflect on God’s movement in your life and the world around you. Please sign up infellowship hall for a time when you can enjoy our sanctuary in solitude, or with a friend.
A special community service will be held from 12 – 3 pm on Good Friday at the Hill church. You are invited to come and go as your schedule allows.
Easter Sunday
